Class Officers

Please take a few minutes to read over the job descriptions for each of the four Class Officers outlined below, think about which members of your class would be enthusiastic and effective in the given roles, and submit your nominations in the survey below. Of course, you're more than welcome to nominate yourself, and if you're already a Class Captain, don't worry – we still need you. Just let us know which role fits you best. Here are the job descriptions:

Class President: The President of each class carries the primary responsibility for overseeing the collaborative efforts of his fellow Class Officers, while also functioning as the point person for communication with Loyola Blakefield and the Director of Alumni Relations. He is responsible for helping to maintain the current Class Officer positions and for recruiting classmates to fill any open positions.

Communications Chair: The Communications Chair is responsible for gathering information of special relevance to his class and disseminating it to his classmates. In addition to sending email updates about class news and events when appropriate, the Communications Chair collects "Class Notes" and submits a short entry to the Director of Alumni Relations for publication in Blakefield Magazine.

Stewardship Chair: The Stewardship Chair meets regularly with the Director of Alumni Relations and the Director of Annual Fund to discuss the financial support of the school provided by his class. He sets yearly fundraising goals for his class, works to encourage his classmates' participation in annual fundraising efforts and special campaigns related to major reunions, and keeps them informed of their progress throughout the year.

Events Chair: In addition to working closely with the Director of Alumni Relations to plan major reunions, the Events Chair organizes independent, informal, off-campus class events that take place throughout the year. He also identifies classmates not living in the Baltimore area and encourages them to host their own events if possible.

Ideally, an officer will guide his class from one major reunion to the next, at which point we'll ask for new nominations. The Class of 2011 has already gone through the nomination process, and we have a great young group of officers committed to leading our newest graduates through their first five years at Blakefield.
