Built in 1996, Burk Hall houses the offices of Principal, Assistant Principals, Guidance and Counseling and the departments of Religious Studies, Art, History, Mathematics and Computer Science. Connecting Burk Hall to Wheeler Hall is the Chapel of Our Lady of Montserrat, is used for daily mass throughout the school year, as well as other special events. During the school day, the chapel is open to students for prayer and reflection.
One of the newest additions to the Blakefield campus is Knott Hall. Constructed in 2002, it houses our aquatic center, locker and training rooms, coaching offices, our wrestling and fitness centers and field house. The student commons features a spacious dining hall, student and alumni lounges, hall of alumni, conference and classroom facilities, bookstore and offices for Ignatian Service, Camps Ministry, Admissions, Athletics and the Dean of Students. This building is the center of campus life for Dons current, past and future.
Named in honor of the Reverend John Sheridan, S.J., Sheridan Hall is the home to our sixth, seventh and eighth grades. Originally known as St. Mary’s Hall, Sheridan also includes a music room for our concert and jazz band musicians.
Wheeler Hall, constructed in 1933, was the first academic building on the Blakefield campus. Named after Father Ferdinand Wheeler, S.J., it houses the Mary Creaghan Library, the Science Department, Modern and Classical Languages and the English Department. The recreational lounge in the basement, today known as the Father Lloyd George, S.J. Lounge, was refurbished in 2011 and is home to many Blakefield events year round.
Located in the middle of the campus, the Xavier Hall mansion was once home to the Jesuit community on campus. It currently houses the offices of the President, Development, Marketing and Finance. Blake Parlor, home to many meetings and gatherings, and a small chapel are located on the first floor. Located directly across from Xavier Hall is the Statue of St. Ignatius offering his sword to the blessed Mother at Montserrat. This statue was erected in honor of alumni killed in action during World Wars I and II.
