Zach Reid '20 Named 26th Annual Troy Vance Scholarship Recipient

During our Virtual Academic Awards Assembly on Tuesday, Zach Reid '20 was named the 26th Annual Troy M. Vance '85 Memorial Scholarship recipient. Thanks to the Vance family and to the past scholarship recipients who presented the award virtually.

Zach transferred to Loyola Blakefield in 10th grade and quickly found his home. He was inducted into Loyola's chapter of the National Honor Society and he became an integral part of our Peer Education Program. He was also a member of the Varsity Water Polo team for two years and the Varsity Swimming & Diving team for three years. He served as co-captain for both teams this year. Named a Scholastic All-American in swimming this year, he plans to continue pursuing his academic and athletic growth at Loyola University Maryland in the fall.

"My time at Loyola has been extremely rewarding, and words cannot express my gratitude towards the school staff and community. I was honestly shocked at receiving the Troy Vance Scholarship. I remembered in years past hearing the recipient called and never expected that my name would be announced. I am incredibly grateful and humbled by the honor of receiving this award. Thank you to the Vance family. I will strive to continue this legacy of success and service."
