In Loving Memory - An Everlasting Tribute to Will Stocksdale '21

In partnership with the Stocksdale family, Dons and families of the Class of 2021 have formally established The William C. Stocksdale '21 Endowment Fund.

Please take a moment to read a message from Andrew Polun '21:

For the past couple of weeks, I have been trying to make sense of our loss. It has been deeply saddening to myself and countless others who were fortunate to know Will. He demonstrated everything I have always strived to be. He was the most motivated and proactive person I had ever met. Additionally, he always displayed kindness and inclusivity to all. I believe I can speak for my fellow '21 classmates when I say that Will remains the embodiment of what it means to be both a Loyola Don and a Man for Others. Will loved Loyola and the community it encompassed. He partook in a wide variety of activities and clubs that had a profound impact on campus life. As our SGA President, Will took charge and made it a point to give us the best experience during our time at Blakefield. To quote the words of some of my classmates, Will “always brought people together” and “was a true friend to all.” Although there isn’t enough space in this letter to describe the kind of man Will was, I think these claims are indisputable.

In order to preserve, in perpetuity, the extraordinary legacy that Will forged during his time at Loyola, we have established The William C. Stocksdale ’21 Endowment Fund. Will's thoughtful leadership and commitment to service will live on through this fund, which will serve as enduring expression of the light and love that Will so abundantly blessed us with through his words and deeds.

In closing, I’d like to thank everyone for the support they have shown within our community and to the Stocksdale family. To quote another one of my classmates, “Will was the glue that held our class together.”

I hope you'll join us in honoring his legacy.
