Jeremy Parr Named Assistant Director of Athletics

We are excited to announce Mr. Jeremy Parr as our new Assistant Director of Athletics. For the past 13 years, Jeremy has worked closely with the Athletics Department in his role of Head Athletic Trainer, providing excellent care and service to our student-athletes, coaches, and teachers. “Jeremy’s ability to lead, knowledge of our community, and experience within the MIAA makes him the right candidate for the job and an invaluable resource for our department,” said Brant Hall, Director of Athletics. Parr will continue to serve in the role of Head Athletic Trainer and will be assisted by a new part-time trainer, Ms. Gabby Whitlow.

“I am humbled and excited to expand my role and responsibilities in the Athletics Department here,” said Parr. “I love this school, the students, and the Blakefield community for many reasons, but particularly for the faith-based mission and identity and the core values instilled in all. I am eager to share and expand my student engagement opportunities to do my small part in the Ignatian formation and development of men for others. The Athletics Department is a great representation of the team approach at Loyola, and I am very proud to be part of the leadership group for our student-athletes.”

Among his many duties in this new role, Parr will assist with recruitment efforts for all sports, help manage athletic events both home and away, assist with purchasing and maintaining equipment, oversee and coordinate departmental technology needs, and represent the school at league meetings and functions.

Jeremy has worked with student-athletes from every program at each level since his start here in 2005. Prior to Loyola, he served as athletic trainer and physical education teacher for Wicomico High School in Salisbury, MD, from 1999–2005. Completing his athletic training degree from Salisbury University in 1997, Jeremy pursued his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Sport and Science, from Marshall University in Huntington, WV, in 1999. Jeremy is a nationally-certified athletic trainer licensed in the state of Maryland. Although he loves spending time at his second home here at Loyola, he prefers spending his down time with his wife and four kids.
