Dons Attend Annual Baltimore Student Diversity Leadership Conference

On Saturday, November 10, several Dons including Josh Braxton '22, Keivon Anderson '20, Austin Maultsby '20, Trey Hunt '19, Jordan Andrews '21, Eric Vazquez '20, Justin Brooks '19, Andrew Abraham '21, and Adrian Russell '21 attended the Baltimore Student Diversity Leadership Conference at The Key School in Annapolis.

This annual grassroots conference, which has existed for over twenty years under the dedicated leadership of teachers and students who are a part of the Association of Independent Maryland & DC Schools (AIMS), helps develop high school student leaders in the areas of diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice. Students heard from author, activist, and professor Dr. Joshua Bennett and participated in student-led workshops on systemic racism, gender equity, LGBT identity, cultural appropriation, climate justice, and more.

Special thanks to Director of Diversity & Inclusion Bernie Bowers '78, Interim Director of Campus Ministries Justin White, Ignatian Ministries Associate Vonda Duncan, English teacher Jess Bello, and Modern Languages teacher Carlos Bahamon  for accompanying our Dons.
