Cyber Dons Host Digital Citizenship Outreach for Sixth Grade

Outside of competing in national competitions, our Cyber Dons also do a fair amount of outreach with local schools in regards to digital citizenship—the responsible use of technology by anyone who uses computers, the Internet, and digital devices to engage with society on any level.

Last week, they kept it in-house as 12 members of our Cyber Program led small and large group discussions about social media and reputation with our 6th graders in the Four-Court Gym. They also posed this question: "What would St. Ignatius have used social media for?"

"We believe we are making a difference in raising awareness and providing strategies for parents and students to have an open dialogue around social media and its use," said Mr. Steve Morrill, Director of Cyber Science at Loyola.

This outreach has been in high demand since our Cyber Program started providing it several years ago. If you know anyone interested in having our students speak with their community, please reach our to Mr. Morrill.
