Loyola Basketball Hosting 7th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Fundraiser

On Friday, Loyola Basketball will host its 7th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser during their triple-header against Archbishop Spalding. All proceeds will go toward MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center's "We Care Fund." This is a charity fund that helps support local families who have a loved one battling cancer. Over the last six years, through the generous support of the Loyola Blakefield community, our basketball program has raised $18,000 toward various cancer-related charities.

Here's how you can help:

1. Throughout the rest of the week, the team will be accepting donations toward the Wall of Honor during lunch periods. Honor a survivor, someone who is currently fighting, or someone who may have lost the fight to cancer by writing their names on a card that will be hung on the walls of the Performance Gym for all to see during the basketball games.

2. During the day on Friday, faculty, staff, and students will be invited to wear sneakers with their regular school attire. Our basketball team will be collecting donations during lunch periods in the dining hall.

3. Come out and support our basketball teams on Friday (Frosh 3:30 p.m., JV 5:15 p.m., Varsity 7:00 p.m.). Bring the family as we will have a stocked food stand with pizza, hot dogs, chips, drinks, candy, and more!
