27th Annual Billy Korrow Run Held Virtually

The 27th Annual Billy Korrow Memorial 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk was supposed to take place on our campus this past Sunday, May 3, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic we decided to do things a bit different this year. To continue this annual tradition of honoring Billy and to celebrate Mr. Korrow in his 50th and final year at Loyola, we invited members of our community to participate in their own 5K run or one-mile walk, submit photos and videos, and make a tribute gift in honor of the Billy Korrow Memorial Scholarship Fund. Hundreds of alumni, faculty, staff, current and past families, and friends of Loyola heeded the call and showed their support (check out all of the photos and videos below).

27th Annual Billy Korrow Run
What an outpouring of love and support for the Korrow family! Thanks to everyone who participated and sent in their photos! If you haven't done so already, you can still make a gift to the Billy Korrow Memorial Scholarship Fund here.

About the Billy Korrow Run

The run was started by a group of Loyola alumni and friends in 1994 to honor Billy Korrow, who passed away in 1993 as a seventh grader here at Loyola. Billy was the son of longtime Loyola faculty member Mr. Bill Korrow. Subsequently, a sholarship fund was founded in 1998 to carry on Billy's legacy, and this annual race is the largest fundraising component for the scholarship, which is given to a rising seventh grader and a rising ninth grader who are academically gifted and show the spirit that Billy had in his time at Loyola. A total of 43 students have received this scholarship. This event is very popular among our community, and it draws a big crowd every year from current students to faculty, staff, alumni, and families past and present.
