Fischer Program Celebrates Another Successful Summer

We celebrated the end to another successful summer of our Fischer Program with a special ceremony on Hargaden Field last Friday, July 24, where students received some back-to-school supplies and a special treat from Kona Ice.

This three-year, tuition-free program is an opportunity for highly motivated middle school students of color from Baltimore City & County to engage in a five-week, full-day tutoring, mentoring, and summer camp experience that includes enriched academics, athletics, and co-curricular activities. The goal is to prepare these students for any high school college prep curriculum.

Although the program moved to a virtual format this summer, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students did an excellent job logging into their Math, English, and Humanities classes every day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thanks to our Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Mr. Bernie Bowers '78, and several of our faculty and staff members for continuing to make this program happen this summer.
