Loyola Speech & Debate Shines at Dallastown Wildcat Invitational

Our Speech & Debate Dons rolled at the Dallastown Wildcat Invitational this past Saturday, Nov. 14. The Dons gave several award-winning presentations, sweeping the podium in Prose Reading. Please congratulate the following students:

  • 2nd Place in Program Oral Interpretation

  • Semifinalist in Original Oratory
  • 3rd Place in Prose Reading

  • 6th Place in Informative Speaking

  • 4th Place in Poetry Reading

Also, congratulations to senior Jakob Taylor, who was recently named an Academic All-American by the National Speech & Debate Association. The award recognizes academic rigor, competitive speech and debate success, and personal excellence. Fewer than 2% of all members of the NSDA honor society are recognized with this award.  

The Dons have two tournaments coming up this weekend, the Villiger Invitational hosted by St. Joseph’s University and BCFL Tournament #2.
