We celebrated our 4th Annual Day of the Don—a single day of giving dedicated to supporting the students of Loyola Blakefield—on Tuesday, May 11. Our theme for this year was Dons Keep Rolling, in recognition of how our Dons have continued to persevere, and even thrive, despite a year of many challenges. Watch a special tribute below detailing how our Dons have continued to roll.

With a goal to raise $50,000 from 200 donors in just 24 hours, we quickly rolled past both of these totals just before 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday with 11 more hours to go. By the end of the day, we managed to double both our donor goal and our dollar goal, resulting in a total of $103,744 raised from 417 donors!

Several anonymous giving challenges were key to the success of this campaign, including a generous $4,000 gift if we reached 75 donors before noon, and a $5,000 match for any gifts that came in between 6:00 p.m. and midnight, which helped push us over the $100,000 mark.

We hosted several raffles as well, including our Premium Graduation Package Raffle, which included four front row seats to graduation this year. We are excited to say that 65 parents of the Class of 2021 made gifts totaling $13,175.

Our largest group of donors were our alumni, who contributed a total of 200 gifts. A special congratulations to the Class of 1984 who took home our Alumni Giving Challenge with a total of 44 donors who collectively raised $12,000.

Another highlight from the day included a special live walkthrough tour of our Innovative Learning Center hosted by President Anthony Day. You can watch the entire tour below and see the amazing progress that has been made on this building that will officially open in the fall.

Thank you to everyone who supported this effort. Once again, we are truly blessed by what this community—this family—was able to accomplish in a single day. Be sure to check out the full donor wall here.
