Dylan Hosford '04 Named Loyola Tennis Head Coach

We are excited to announce that Mr. Dylan Hosford ’04 will take over as the head coach of our tennis program next year. Dylan served under Coach Kraft as the Assistant Varsity Tennis Coach during his first year as a math teacher here at Loyola—he also played for Mr. Kraft during his time here as a student. Mr. Kraft is retiring after 21 years at the helm of our tennis program and 24 years as a Loyola educator.

“We are excited to have Dylan lead our tennis program into the future,” said Director of Athletics Brant Hall. “Dylan's time as a student-athlete, teacher, and coach at Loyola has prepared him to take our program to the next level. His leadership and care for our student-athletes was evident this past season.”

Mr. Hosford has extensive coaching experience, having served as a middle school cross country & track coach while teaching at Trinity School (2010–20) and senior tennis instructor for six years at Camp Deerwood in New Hampshire (2008–14). He brings a lot of young energy and excitement to a program that has seen much growth in recent years.

In fact, the team has qualified for the playoffs every year since 2001, playing in the last 18 of 20 MIAA semifinals, and making it to the MIAA finals in 2015 and 2016. The team had one of the best seasons in school history in 2016, playing in the closest team final in MIAA history, and winning three of five MIAA Individual Championships. Over the years, several varsity players have been selected to the All-MIAA team and many have gone on to play at tennis at the collegiate level.
