Wesley Wood '88 Facilitates Donation of Laptops to Fischer Program

On July 20, Wesley Wood '88 and PCs for People surprised students in our Fischer Program with brand new laptops. In his role as Corporate and Government Liaison for the nonprofit organization, Wood is tasked with establishing relationships with corporate and government partners to secure commitments to donate and distribute tech as part of PCs for People’s efforts to close the digital divide in Maryland.

Loyola Blakefield's Fischer Program provides an ideal opportunity for highly motivated middle school-age students of color from Baltimore City and County to engage in a three-year program to develop the strong study skills and focused approach to learning that will prepare them for Loyola Blakefield's challenging Upper School college preparatory curriculum. This tuition-free program includes a stepping stone introduction to more challenging levels of course studies and a variety of co-curricular activities in a relaxed atmosphere, under the guidance of expert teachers, tutors, coaches, and mentors.
