Brant Hall '98 Departs for West Coast

After 17 years of dedication and service to his alma mater, Brant Hall ’98 and his family are bound for the West Coast. Brant has served as Director of Athletics since 2018. He began his tenure at Loyola in 2004 as a middle school computer science teacher. In addition to his work in the Athletics Department, Brant served as Assistant Director of Admissions and spent nine years as Offensive Coordinator for the varsity football team followed by five years as Head Coach. “I’ve cherished every minute of my time at Loyola both as a student and member of our faculty and staff,” said Brant. “My wife has an incredible career opportunity in California, so this begins a new adventure for us and our boys. I’ll miss my Loyola family, but my connections with the school community will remain strong.”

“Brant has played a leading role in shaping the student experience here at Loyola for many years,” said President Anthony Day. “He is an extraordinary ambassador for the school and lives out all of the principles of an Ignatian educator in both his professional and personal life. His presence here at Blakefield will be greatly missed, but we are all excited for what awaits the Hall family as they set off on this next chapter together.”

As he reflects on his time at Loyola, Brant shared the following remarks:

It has been an honor to serve Loyola Blakefield over the past 17 years. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from so many great educators who continue to provide guidance and support for Loyola’s students, faculty, and staff. The lessons I learned as a student helped me to be a better person, coworker, and leader. My goal at Loyola was always to help our young Dons grow to become great men, and while the fruits of an educator’s labor are not always reaped immediately, I was always filled with gratitude when our young alumni came back to visit and shared their accomplishments with me. It is in those moments when you truly see the impact educators have on their students. I will always remember the memories made on service trips, class retreats, and of course, the athletic fields. From Larry Strickland’s fumble recovery in the 2003 Turkey Bowl, to Kenny Lewis’ buzzer beating three-point shot to BEAT THE HALL in 2017, my love for Blue and Gold will never fade. I’d like to thank all those who have supported me and my family over the past 17 years. We are truly blessed to be a part of such a wonderful community of people. Loyola will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Jeremy Parr, Assistant Athletic Director, will lead the Athletics Office in an interim capacity for the 2021-22 school year. A search will commence this fall to identify Loyola’s next Director of Athletics for the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Please join us in wishing Brant and his family all the best.
