Newly Renovated Baseball Stadium to be Named Veterans Park

In celebration of Veterans Day, and to honor the brave men and women who have served our nation, we are excited to officially announce the name of our newly renovated baseball stadium—Veterans Park.

Patrick '77 and Michelle Connor (parents of Brian '08 & Sean '09, Marc J. '08, and Michael J. “MJ” Franklin ‘08) recently made an additional investment in our Bolte-Breschi Athletic Complex to help us reach our $5 million project goal. Thanks to their generous support of this project, the Connor family was granted the opportunity to name the baseball stadium.

"Since being reintroduced to the Loyola Blakefield community with my sons starting their educational and spiritual journeys here, I was struck by the number of veterans within our extended school community," said Patrick Connor '77. "When the opportunity presented itself to name the new baseball field, I immediately thought of Veterans Park to honor those brave men and women who have stepped up to the plate for our country and provided hope and safety. My wish is that for decades to come, Veterans Park will be home to many great memories between friends, families, students, visitors, and most importantly active and former service members all enjoying America’s pastime with a hot dog in hand. Veterans Park will be a peaceful reminder to all who have answered the call to serve that they are loved and appreciated.”

We look forward to dedicating this space and installing several features that will recognize the extraordinary contributions of our veterans. Please stay tuned for details and opportunities to celebrate this addition to our campus. The entire project is on track for completion by mid-December.
