CHRIS CLUNIE '02 VISITS WITH OUR BASKETBALL PROGRAM

Our basketball program welcomed Chris Clunie '02 to campus on Saturday to help prepare for the upcoming season.

Chris played basketball for Jerry Savage during his time here and was a 1,000-point scorer. He went on to play for Davidson College after receiving an academic scholarship, and during his senior year, he helped recruit Steph Curry, who came to Davidson the year after Chris graduated.

Chris now works for the NBA on the business side in International Relations, helping spread the game of basketball around the world.

His message to our Dons:

Take advantage of the education and opportunities that Loyola provides. It was academics that brought me to where I am today along with my work ethic and sense of responsibility and respect for those around me. Work hard in the classroom and respect everyone along the way.

Varsity Basketball opens its season at Gerstell Academy this Thursday, followed by the home opener against Cristo Rey Jesuit on Saturday at 12 p.m.
