SPEECH & DEBATE STUDENTS EARN BIDS TO TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
Several speech and debate students traveled to the Columbia University Invitational this past weekend, which hosted 63 schools from 13 states. The following Dons placed:
Jonathan Bollinger '17 –
7th Place in Congressional Debate
Luke Scaletta '17 –
5th Place in Oral Interpretation of Literature
Quarterfinalist in Dramatic Performance
Luke Scaletta '17 & Will LaMoure '19 –
5th Place in Duo Interpretation
Luke's 5th place finish in Oral Interpretation and Luke and Will's 5th place finish in Duo Interpretation earned them bids to the Tournament of Champions (TOC), the most prestigious and competitive annual American high school speech & debate tournament, hosted by the University of Kentucky in late April. These are the second and third TOC bids earned by Dons since speech events were added to the tournament in 2013.
