JUNIOR MISSIONING MASS HIGHLIGHTS

Loyola Blakefield held its annual Junior Missioning Mass on Friday, January 27, as members of the Class of 2018 were anointed with oil on their hands signifying their task to serve God and the community by fulfilling their service requirements for graduation over the course of the next year.

Danny Zawodny '10 stopped by and reflected on his Loyola summer service trip to Camden, NJ, and traveling to Nicaragua during his time with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps after graduating from Boston College.

"When I think about the people I encountered and worked with during my time in Nicaragua, what comes to mind aren't the things I was able to do for them, rather I am simply in awe of their humanity, their stories," said Zawodny. "For me, that's what service has really been about—encountering the lives and stories of others so that I may encounter my own more fully."
