SCHOOL COMMUNITY CELEBRATES BEGINNING OF LENT
“Remember, you are dust, and unto dust you shall return.” (Genesis 3:19)
Our school community gathered in the Performance Gym on the morning of Ash Wednesday to celebrate the beginning of Lent. Fr. Bruce Steggert served as the celebrant. Students and faculty received the ashes of the palms from last year's Palm Sunday on their foreheads. By receiving ashes, we publicly proclaim our intent to repent and live even more in Christ’s image, which we focus on during the season of rebirth that is Lent. Students were also tasked with taking part in a Lenten challenge created by middle school students (see photo for details).
