BLUE & GOLD AUCTION RAISES OVER $380,000 FOR LOYOLA

The 2017 Blue & Gold Auction was a success as we hosted 540 parents, faculty/staff, alumni, and friends of Loyola Blakefield on campus March 25, 2017, for our premier annual fundraising gala. The Four-Court Gym was transformed into Derby Downs to complement the theme of this year's auction, Off to the Races, which paid homage to Maryland horse racing. In all, the event raised over $380,000 in net proceeds to directly benefit our Blakefield community.

Live Auction items included a trip to Sicily and tickets to a taping of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Also, congratulations to Joel Seledee ’83 for winning the $20,000 raffle. At the end of the night, the audience raised their paddles to contribute $56,000 to benefit our campus ministries programs including our Kairos retreats. Cam Commodari ’18 spoke to the audience about his personal Kairos experience after everyone viewed a very touching video about the role that Kairos has played in the lives of over 4,000 Dons.

Watch both the Kairos video and Cam's speech here.

Thanks to Auction Chairs MaryBeth and Charlie Protzman, P ’03, ’05, ’09, Masters of Ceremony Joanne and Frank McShalley, P ’16, Auctioneer Tom Mooney ’76, P ’14, and the dozens of volunteers who helped organize such a great night benefiting our Dons.
