It was a record-setting day for Loyola Speech & Debate at the Chesapeake District Championship hosted on campus on Saturday, April 1. The team won the district championship in speech and took third place in debate and congress.
Ten Dons finished in first or second place in their event, thereby qualifying them to attend the National Speech and Debate Association Championship in Birmingham in June. This is the largest contingent that Loyola will have ever brought to this tournament, breaking the previous record of eight set in 2013.
