MIDDLE SCHOOL ROBOTICS COMPETES IN 2017 CREATE U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Our middle school robotics team—Benick Mbaya '21, Joe Taylor '21, Brendan Reiners '23, and Preston Runge '23—traveled to Council Bluffs, Iowa, from April 7–9 for the 2017 CREATE U.S. Open Robotics Championship. In addition, Blessy Mbaya '19 traveled with the team as a mentor and to serve as the voice of the qualification round announcer.

The Dons competed against teams from as far away as China, Canada, California, and Florida. After 220 qualification rounds over two days, the team finished in the middle of the pack with a record of 4 wins and 6 losses. It was a great experience for our young Dons.

Our high school robotics team of Bobby Wescott '18 and John Parks '17 will compete in the 2017 VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville next week.
