Highlights from MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

Loyola Indoor Track & Field competed in the MIAA Championships on Friday, January 26, at the Prince George's County Sports & Learning Complex. As a team, Loyola finished fifth overall, but several of our Dons were medalists in their respective events, including the following:

Camden Gilmore '19 was our sole MIAA champion, winning the 3200m. He also finished 2nd in the 1600m.

Kye Richards '19 placed 2nd in the triple jump.

Ronan Sullivan '19 placed 3rd in the 3200m.

Patrick Krack '18, Aaron Ray '21, Brodie Holmes '18 and Garner Randazzo '18 placed 3rd in the 4 x 200m relay.

Krack, Holmes, Randazzo, and Neil Blanchard '18 placed 3rd in the 4 x 400m relay.

Brodie Holmes (35.74) placed 2nd in the 300m dash, finishing only three-tenths of a second behind one of his best friends Jordan Ross (35.48) of McDonogh. According to Coach Cucuzzella, they have run track in the summer together since they were little kids. Brodie's performance still qualified him for the New Balance Indoor Nationals in March for the fourth straight year. He joins Michael Wegner ’15 as the only Don to qualify for nationals in all four years.

Aaron Ray qualified for the New Balance Indoor Nationals in the Freshman Boys 55m Dash after his performance at the MIAA Championships.

Patrick Krack improved his previous personal best in the 55m dash at the MIAA Championships. His new personal best of (6.69) moves him up to #3 on the all-time list at Loyola Blakefield.

Congratulations to all of our Dons on a successful indoor season.
