Boston Red Sox Photographer Speaks with Visual Arts Students

It was a pleasure hosting Boston Red Sox​ Staff Photographer Billie Weiss on Friday, January 26, as he spoke with several of our photography classes about his journey toward becoming a professional sports photographer (he even brought his 2013 World Series Championship ring).

Mr. Weiss has also served as an assistant photographer for the Baltimore Orioles and has photographed several WTA and ATP Tennis Tournaments, including the U.S. Open and Wimbledon. On top of all of that, Mr. Weiss has a freelance photography and videography business for which he's done a variety of work including corporate commercials, weddings, and music videos.

His work has appeared in both national and local media outlets, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Boston Herald, The Baltimore Sun, ESPN.com, Getty Images, The Huffington Post, Yahoo! Sports, and more!

A Baltimore native, Mr. Weiss holds a B.A. in communications and Spanish from Goucher College and an M.S. in journalism from Boston University.
