Loyola Robotics Makes History

Loyola Blakefield Robotics competed in the Baltimore County VEX Robotics VRC STEM Tournament this past Saturday at Patapsco High School. Facing off against 56 teams from more than a dozen high schools across Maryland, two Loyola teams finished as tournament finalists, earning bids to the state championship later this month. The teams consisted of Bobby Wescott ‘18, Joe McKee '19, and Joey Wolfgang '18, as well as Harris Kokkinokos '20, Jeremy Hannon '20, Matt Gwin '20, and Austin Maultsby '20. This is the first year in program history that three teams have qualified for the state championship. Brothers Blessy '19 and Benick Mbaya '21 earned their bid in the fall. The state championship will take place at Dundalk/Sollers Point Technical High School from Feb. 23–24.
