Loyola Robotics Makes Program History at State Championship

Since its inception, our robotics program has been proud to represent Loyola each year at the Maryland State VEX Robotics Championship. For the first time in program history, they sent not just one, but four teams to Sollers Point Technical High School and Dundalk High School on Saturday, Feb. 24, to face off against more than 50 of the best high school teams in the state. Each of these teams received an invitation based on their performance throughout the season, which began in April 2017.

During the long, grueling day of competition, all four Loyola teams performed well enough in the qualification rounds to advance to the elimination rounds, but three teams fell short in the quarterfinals and one in the semifinals. There is still a chance the program could send one team (7135C) to Worlds, based on the results from the Skills Competition.
