JJ Halaby '18 Named All-MIAA
Congratulations to senior varsity basketball captain JJ Halaby, who was recently named to the All-MIAA team for the 2017–18 season. "JJ really had a fantastic year, and it's great that his season was noticed by not only the players and coaches on our team, but also the other teams in our league," said Head Coach Josh Davalli.
To be recognized as one of the top players in the MIAA 'A' Conference is a great honor for JJ. Throughout the season, he emerged as a floor general, scorer, and leader for the Dons, who finished 8–10 in league play and qualified for the quarterfinals of the MIAA 'A' Conference playoffs. "He is one of the smartest basketball players I have had the pleasure to coach," added Davalli. "To be awarded with this honor is certainly deserved by JJ."
Halaby also received the Most Improved Player Award for the Baltimore Catholic League (BCL) and was named 2nd Team All-BCL during the league's annual banquet on February 19. In addition, Cam Shaw '18 received an Honorable Mention for All-BCL and Chid Nnake '18 received the league's Never, Never Quit Award. Shaw and Nnake both served as senior captains this season as well.
