CONNOR GILL '20 ATTAINS EAGLE SCOUT RANK

On October 5, freshman Connor Gill attained the rank of Eagle Scout after completing a project that involved developing wireless infrastructure and improved internet access for the Carroll County Agriculture Center with newly installed equipment throughout the facility’s buildings.

The project took 35 days (700 hours) to complete, including site prep and cleanup, engineering walk-thru, installation, and fundraising. The total value of the project was over $21,000. The center can now do research, access real-time data, and provide internet capabilities to over 60 groups that regularly use the facilities including local government, community, and civic organizations.

Connor was assisted by another Don, Thomas Bethune '20, and his parents, who are owners of Freedom Broadband, which provided the technical expertise on the project.

Connor currently plays football at Loyola and has been a camp counselor and troop guide for national youth leadership training. After football season is over, he would like to take part in environmental and conservation work at Loyola.
