Tim Baier ’90 Named Maryland MIAA Volleyball Coach of the Year

Loyola Blakefield Head Varsity Volleyball Coach Tim Baier ’90 has been named the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Volleyball Coach of the Year, honoring his leadership during a historic 2025 season.

Under Baier’s guidance, Loyola Volleyball delivered a championship performance from start to finish. On Friday, November 7, the Dons swept Gilman School in straight sets to claim the MIAA “A” Conference Championship—earning the program’s first title since 2019 and its ninth overall, the most in conference history. The victory capped a perfect 15–0 campaign, as Loyola completed an undefeated season marked by balance, discipline, and unity across the roster.

Now in his 21st year as head coach, Baier has been a steady and influential presence in Loyola athletics. A proud member of the Class of 1990, he has built a culture of excellence that emphasizes preparation, accountability, and team-first play. The Coach of the Year honor reflects both the dominance of the 2025 season and Baier’s long-standing impact on Loyola Volleyball.

Congratulations to Coach Baier on a well-deserved honor and to the entire Loyola Volleyball program on an extraordinary championship season.
