Emmett Omron '25 Named to Maryland All State Senior Orchestra

Please join us in congratulating Emmett Omron '25 on his placement in the 2023 Maryland Music Educators Association All State Senior Orchestra. As part of this prestigious honor, Emmet joined fellow musicians at a concert on Sunday, March 5th at the Baltimore Convention Center.

“Getting to participate in All State is definitely one of the highlights of high school for me,” said Emmett. “Spending an entire weekend playing in an orchestra was an incredibly fun experience, as was all the practice that led up to it, and I'm hoping to be able to participate in many similar activities in the future.”

A member of Loyola Ignatian Honors Program, Emmett is also active in several student activities, including Cyber Security and Liturgical Music. He was also a member of the JV Wrestling team this year.
Please read the following remarks from Mrs. Mary Thielen, Upper and Middle School Band Instructor:

“This orchestra is an auditioned group made up of the top high school musicians in Maryland. This was a huge opportunity for him to able to play more advanced music alongside other students that performing at a very high level for their age. As an oboist, this was also a hard spot to win because the ensemble usually only has 2 or 3 total. It is not a surprise to me that he made it into this group. Emmett’s hard work, dedication, talent, and leadership are evident in the Band Room every day! He takes lessons outside of school and is also a member of the Peabody Wind Ensemble. I am so proud of him and this major achievement!”

The All State selections are sponsored by the Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA) is the professional association for the music educators of Maryland. MMEA is a leading advocate for music education encompassing a broad range of cultural and musical experiences and the right of every student to experience the power of music.
