• Schedule Your Don for a Day Visit

  A vital component of the admissions process is a visit to our campus. After completing your son’s online application, you will receive access to schedule your son’s day-long visit to campus.

   

  Don for a Day Schedule:

  8:45 a.m. – Arrival and Welcome in Knott Hall
  9:00 a.m. – Future Dons are matched with their hosts for the day
  2:15 p.m. – Parents are invited back to campus for Chat and Chew with the admissions office
  3:10 p.m. – Pick-up and optional tour of campus. Upon your son returning to the admissions office, and the conclusion of Chat and Chew, parents and students are invited to stay for an optional tour of campus

• Register for High School Placement Test

  Candidates for admission to Loyola’s 9th grade must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT). The test is offered at Baltimore area schools throughout the fall, including here at Loyola Blakefield on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Candidates can take the test at any of the locations being offered and indicate Loyola Blakefield as one of the schools for scores to be sent to. All candidates should visit the HSPT registration page to register for the test. *Loyola will also accept the Independent School Entrance Exam for high school applicants.*
  
  Test results must be received no later than January 15, 2025.

• HSPT Prep

  Preparing for the High School Placement Test (HSPT) involves practicing key subjects like math, reading, and verbal skills to build familiarity with the test format. Our partners at Student Achievement Associates have offered an HSPT prep course for this Fall to prepare students for their assessment this fall. More information may be found on this flier, and on their website at www.hsptprepprograms.com

• Submit Records Request & Common Referral Form

  Families with applicants currently attending an Archdiocesan of Baltimore school will have their records automatically sent to Loyola upon registering for the HSPT exam. Applicants who are not currently attending an Archdiocesan of Baltimore school must submit Loyola’s Request for Records and Referral Form to their current school, authorizing the release of his transcripts and standardized test results.
  
  Loyola asks that, if possible, to please have two referral forms submitted by two of your son’s teachers. This form must be signed by the parent and should be submitted to the applicant’s current school principal or counselor. Records must be received by January 8, 2025. Applicants from an AIMS school may also use the AIMS Common Referral Form. 
  
  Additional Student Materials
  Loyola welcomes your son to submit additional materials to help us better understand his community engagement or unique gifts and talents. Additional materials could include creative writing samples, artwork, or links to videos of musical, artistic, or athletic performances. Please email admissions@loyolablakefield.org with links, pictures, or documents so we can be sure to upload them to his admissions profile.
  

• Admissions Essay

  Applicants are asked to write a 250-500 word essay as a part of the admissions process.  Essays can be submitted at any time throughout the fall prior to December 20^th. 

  All essays should be saved as a PDF and submitted to admissions@loyolablakefield.org or essays may be submitted through your Loyola Blakefield admissions portal.

• Apply for Aid (optional)

  Loyola strives to provide financial assistance to qualifying families. In order to be eligible for financial aid consideration, please complete the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment (FACTS) online by January 2, 2025.
