Rev. Dennis M. Baker, S.J., serves as Loyola Blakefield's President, bringing a wealth of Jesuit educational leadership and global experience to the role. He previously led Xavier High School in Chuuk, Micronesia, where his tenure included navigating challenges like a severe drought and the COVID-19 pandemic. His efforts in fundraising and fiscal management enabled transformative projects, including a new computer lab, Jesuit residence, and chapel renovation. Fr. Baker’s global Jesuit work includes his Tertianship in South Africa and a role as Director of Engagement and Planned Giving at Xavier High School in Manhattan. He also contributes to the Jesuit educational network as a Trustee at the University of Scranton and Holy Cross High School.
With degrees from Fordham University, Niagara University, Boston College, and Columbia University Teachers College, Fr. Baker is deeply committed to academic excellence. An Upstate New York native and 1998 graduate of Canisius High School, he enjoys sports and scuba diving, exploring shipwrecks and marine life worldwide.
