This is a great Father and Son Loyola tradition you won't want to miss! Mass will start at 9:00 a.m., followed by breakfast and a guest speaker from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Our guest speaker is Father James F. Salmon, S.J.. Fr. Salmon is a member of the chemistry and theology departments at Loyola University in Maryland and a Senior Fellow at the Woodstock Theological Center at Georgetown University. He received B.S. and M.E. degrees in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. Before becoming a Jesuit he served in the US Navy and four years as a foundry engineer with the International Nickel Company. He became a Jesuit in 1950 and received an M.A. in philosophy from Boston College, a Ph.D. in physical inorganic chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, and an S.T.B. in theology from Woodstock College. He served as President of Loyola Blakefield for six years, from 1973 – 1979, and is credited with starting the first Development Department at Loyola, laying the foundation for the fundraising efforts that guide us through today.
