Loyola Mountain Biking Team Competes in MICL Finals

Last weekend, the Loyola Mountain Biking Team competed in the Maryland Interscholastic Cycling League Finals at the Patapsco Valley State Park Pickall Area. Despite a little rain on Saturday evening, the course was dry and fast which led to some great times for all of our Dons. Raf Sharp '26 was our lone 8th grade racer, while Nick Jacob '23, Jimmy Gwin '24, Peter Macdonald '24, Jack Schaller '23, Collin Lavin '23, and John Burch '23 all raced in the JV category, and Jack Carey '22 was our lone varsity rider. Jack Carey and Jack Schaller both cracked the top 10 in their respective races. Special thanks to Jim Gwin, P '20, '22, '24, for capturing our Dons in action.

Now that the season is over, there is time for some reflection on the season for the team. "We are all very grateful for the league and its directors, volunteer staff, coaches, and fellow racers from around the state," said Coach Mike Keeney II. "Additionally, none of this happens without parent support, so we would like to especially thank the moms and dads who helped shuttle the boys around town as we trained and competed."
