Dons Capture 2023-24 MIAA A Conference Championship

On Saturday, February 3, the Loyola Blakefield varsity swim team broke a streak of five consecutive runner-up finishes at the MIAA A Conference Swimming Championships. This marks the 21st league title for the Dons.

Coach Gordon Amato encouraged his swimmers to embrace being the underdog. "I told the boys, someone has to win, so why not us," said Amato. "Being the underdog really resonated with the boys and provided them with the fire they needed to capture the MIAA title. It was a proud moment for the boys and for the Loyola swim and dive team. It was a perfect way to wrap up a truly memorable season."

In addition to the conference crown, the Dons went undefeated to also capture the regular season title.
