Loyola Blakefield Names New Ice Hockey Coach

Matt Hanley ’07 has been named Loyola’s new Ice Hockey Coach. For the past two years, he has served as an Assistant Coach with the program. He is also the current coach for Foundations Hockey, which serves players from ages 3-18. During his time as a student at Loyola, Hanley was a four-year varsity player and served as captain for two years. Additionally, he was captain of the Towson University men’s team. Hanley is a Vice President at Seventy2 Capital Wealth Management and resides in Greenspring Valley with his wife Claire and sons, Xavier (4) and Christopher (9 months).
 
"I'm honored to be given the chance to lead a program that shaped me so much as a young man and look forward to putting my stamp on its distinguished legacy,” said Hanley.
 
"We are excited to announce that Matt Hanley will be our next head varsity ice hockey coach for the coming 2024-25 season. Matt is a member of the class of 2007 and has been an assistant coach for our team for the past two seasons. During that time, Matt has brough an innovative and energetic approach to our program and players. He is a relationship building coach that I know our players will benefit from both on the ice and off the ice," said Blake Henry ’98, Director of Athletics.
