Varsity Track & Field competes in the MIAA 'A' Conference, the best track conference in the area. The team has been very competitive, finishing in the top four for the last eight years with a close runner-up finish in 2015. Loyola’s relay teams have historically been ranked among the best in the state for the last decade. Loyola has produced 98 MIAA champions in both indoor and outdoor track and field throughout the program’s history.
The team takes part in dual meets versus other MIAA schools and runs in invitationals against the best competition in the state. Loyola also travels up to Philadelphia each year for the historic Penn Relays, the biggest and best track meet in America. In the past ten years, there have been many highlights at that meet including two victories in their section of the 4 X 400m and 4 X 100m relays and a victory by Matt Jablonski '11 in the Championship of America one mile run in 2011 was one of the biggest victories by any Maryland athlete in the history of the meet. Matt is the only MIAA athlete to win an event at Penn. The team has also sent athletes to the New Balance Outdoor National Championships in June where Dons have the opportunity to run against the best athletes in the nation.
