Andrew Fava '16 & Loyola New Orleans Capture NAIA Basketball Championship

Andrew Fava '16 and the Loyola New Orleans Men's Basketball team captured the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Basketball Championship on March 22. Read more.

During the 2020–21 season, Fava started in all 21 of Loyola's games at 29.5 minutes per contest, averaging 11.1 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He also led Loyola in three-point shooting and was named to the SSAC All-Academic Team for the second-straight season. 
 
Fava transferred from the University of Florida to play as a graduate transfer at Loyola. At Florida, he earned All-SEC Academic Honor Roll twice, helped tie an NCAA record as the Gators had nine different players hit a three-pointer in a game over North Florida. During his years at Loyola Blakefield, he was a two-time Baltimore Catholic League Honorable Mention and team captain his senior year.

He completed his master's degree in Business Administration at Loyola last year and is now studying for a master's degree in Marketing and Communications.
