We are pleased to announce the appointment of Richard "Rick" Marsh '80 as our new Chief Financial Officer. A distinguished alumnus and seasoned financial leader, Marsh will begin his tenure at Loyola Blakefield in June, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the school’s Catholic, Jesuit mission of academic excellence and ethical stewardship.
Rev. Dennis M. Baker, S.J., President, remarked on Marsh’s appointment:
“Rick’s extensive financial expertise and enduring connection to Loyola Blakefield make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team. His dedication to our mission and his steadfast commitment to sound fiscal stewardship will help ensure Loyola’s continued success as a leading institution of Catholic, Jesuit education. I am sincerely thankful for the work of the search committee, and all those who participated in our search process for their thoughtful efforts in bringing Rick back to Loyola.”
Marsh brings an impressive track record to Loyola Blakefield, currently serving as Director of Finance and Operations at Mountain Christian Church. His extensive career also includes a tenure as Chief Financial Officer at CJ Miller, LLC, and six years as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at the United Way of Central Maryland.
In addition to his professional achievements, Marsh is an active leader in his community. He currently serves as Board Chairman of the Financial Planning Ministry, Board President of The EPICENTER, and a Board Member of Christian Financial Resources. He is also dedicated to mentoring young athletes as Head JV and Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach at Perry Hall High School.
A proud member of Loyola Blakefield’s Class of 1980, Marsh’s connection to the school runs deep. His two sons, Dave ’11 and Tim ’13, are also Loyola graduates, continuing the family’s legacy at the institution. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Saint Joseph’s University—the Jesuit university of Philadelphia—where he further honed the skills that have defined his career.
Marsh expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude as he steps into his new role:
“I am honored to join Loyola Blakefield as its Chief Financial Officer. Loyola’s commitment to ethical stewardship, mission, and educational excellence drew me back to my beloved alma mater. Attending Loyola transformed my life—made possible by the scholarship and financial aid I received—and set me on a path to success at Saint Joseph’s University. I’ve stayed connected through alumni events, basketball games, and fundraising for scholarships, and I’ve had the privilege of seeing my sons thrive here as well. I’m thrilled to join this great institution.”
