Loyola Blakefield Launches Historic $30 Million Endowment Campaign

As Loyola Blakefield enters its 175th academic year, we are excited to announce the launch of Men for Others: A Campaign for Faith, Learning, and Service, a historic $30 million campaign to strengthen our endowment and secure the future of Catholic, Jesuit education for generations to come.

Having already secured more than $24 million in commitments, 80 percent of its $30 million goal, Loyola Blakefield now invites alumni, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends to help bring the campaign to completion.

Funds raised will strengthen Loyola's endowment to expand financial aid, attract and retain exceptional faculty and staff, enhance innovative academic programs and student services, and ensure the school continues to meet the needs of 21st-century learners.

As independent schools face rising operational costs, growing demand for financial assistance, and increased competition for talented educators, a stronger endowment will provide the permanent resources needed to sustain Loyola’s mission while reducing reliance on tuition and annual fundraising. To remain competitive among the nation’s leading Jesuit schools and continue delivering a transformative educational experience, Loyola is focused on building the resources necessary to form Men for Others at the highest level and carry its mission forward for generations to come.

Today, more than 60 percent of Loyola families receive financial assistance, with the school awarding approximately $4.5 million annually. Yet nearly one-quarter of families who decline admission cite affordability as the primary reason. By strengthening its endowment, Loyola will expand access for talented students, ease financial pressures on families, and ensure a Loyola education remains within reach for future generations.

"The Men for Others Campaign is about far more than reaching a financial goal. It is about ensuring that Loyola Blakefield continues forming young men of faith, intellect, compassion, courage, and service for the next 175 years and beyond. Every scholarship awarded, every extraordinary educator supported, every innovative opportunity created, and every student whose life is transformed becomes part of the impact of this campaign," said Rev. Dennis M. Baker, S.J., President of Loyola Blakefield.

The campaign builds on Loyola's strong foundation and continued momentum. The school has been named The Baltimore Sun's Best Private School for five consecutive years and a Top Workplace for 14 consecutive years, reflecting the strength of its mission, community, and educational excellence.

Men for Others: A Campaign for Faith, Learning, and Service is a once-in-a-generation investment in the future of the school. By growing its endowment, Loyola Blakefield will strengthen its ability to form young men who will lead lives of faith, learning, service, and leadership for decades to come.
