List Detail

10th - 12th Grade

Rising 10th-12th graders will be reading three or four books for summer reading depending upon their course level in the fall.  Two of these books (in a pair) have already been self-selected by students this past spring. Our theme this year is diversity.  Students are also expected to read one or two books that will be utilized in their English course in the first weeks of the school year.

Self-selected summer reading: Selections have been finalized, and students have received communication from Ms. Terry Darr, our Librarian, as well as from the Assistant Principal for Academics to confirm their selections.  Students may also confirm their selections by visiting the Student Learning Commons Resource page under the Resources tab after they login to their OnCampus account.

English course summer reading: In addition to self-selected summer reading, rising upper school students (10-12th graders) are expected to read one or two books assigned by the instructors of the English course into which they will matriculate in Fall 2025.

Students will be expected to return to school at the end of summer having strong knowledge of this text. We strongly recommend that these books be read in the month of August, closer to the start of the school year, so that details of the book are retained for early in-class assessments during the first week of the first semester.  English department faculty will provide reading questions for students to help prepare them for meaningful engagement with this text.

FOR RISING SENIORS:  Seniors need only read the book assigned to the English course which they are starting in Fall 2025. Course schedules will be available starting on August 4th.
