Meet Filippo

"The teachers here make it personal and want you to do well."

Filippo came to Loyola in 7th grade from Dumbarton Middle School in search of a more rigorous academic program. Whether it be through his work in the film club, his participation in the Justice Summit, or his role as VP of Service for the SGA, Filippo has forged his own path, gaining invaluable tools from his teachers and fellow students along the way.

Of particular note, Filippo has been instrumental in aiding the Loyola Food Pantry, coordinating the collections of cans among all grades. According to him, “the fall canned food drive is always so helpful to St. Gregory the Great Church; Loyola wants to extend that help throughout the year. I have delivered food four or five times and when you see the people lined up it makes it all worthwhile.”

Filippo has also been able to cultivate his love of music as a flute player and as a member of the Album club, a group he was inspired by Mr. LeBella to join. For him this was no surprise because, in his words, the teachers here “make it personal and want you to do well.” When asked to describe a Don, he responds with one word: “unique.”

A hearty congratulations to Filippo as he looks ahead to attending Georgetown University next fall!
