Brant Hall '98 Returns to Blakefield

Loyola Blakefield is proud to announce the appointment of Brant Hall as its new Director of Athletics, beginning this July. This marks a return to Loyola for Hall, who previously led our athletics programming from 2018 to 2021.

The appointment comes as a result of a rigorous national search that drew nearly 150 applicants from across the country.  Hall’s candidacy received enthusiastic support from a wide range of stakeholders, including members of the President’s Cabinet, teachers, coaches, and dedicated supporters of our athletics program. Across the board, feedback highlighted his exceptional qualifications, vision, and unwavering commitment to Loyola Blakefield’s mission. His deep connection to the school, combined with his proven leadership and passion for student-athlete development, made him the ideal choice to lead our athletics program into the future.

“We are delighted to welcome Brant Hall back to Loyola Blakefield – a place that has profoundly shaped him both as a student and as a professional,” said Fr. Dennis M. Baker, S.J., President. “Brant’s enduring connection to Loyola as an alumnus, coach, and leader reflects his unwavering love for our community and his deep commitment to our Catholic, Jesuit mission. His dedication to forming young men who excel not just athletically, but also as individuals of integrity, compassion, and service, perfectly embodies the values we hold dear.”

Hall most recently served as Assistant Athletics Director and Leadership Academy Director at St. Bonaventure High School in Ventura, California, where he oversaw athletic programming and cultivated leadership skills among student-athletes. This role followed a distinguished tenure at Loyola Blakefield, where he served as Director of Athletics from 2018 to 2021, as well as Assistant Director of Admissions and Head Football Coach.

"I am incredibly excited and deeply grateful for the opportunity to return to Loyola Blakefield and lead the Athletics Department. This community has always held a special place in my heart, and I am honored to help shape the athletic experience for our Dons,” said Hall. “Our programs will go beyond wins and losses—they will focus on building character, deepening faith, and fostering a sense of purposes. Together, we will pursue excellence on the field while developing young men who lead with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to serving others."

A graduate of Lehigh University, Hall earned his master’s degree in Sport Management from Lasell College in 2019. He has also completed athletic administration certifications through the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).

A member of the Loyola Blakefield Athletics Hall of Fame, Hall was a three-year varsity starter at quarterback during his time at Loyola. He was named The Baltimore Sun’s Metro Football Player of the Year in 1997 and was a member of two tri-championship teams and one MIAA Championship squad. During his tenure at Lehigh, the team won four consecutive Patriot League Championships, and he was twice named 1st Team All-Patriot League. Hall currently stands as the winningest quarterback in Lehigh history.

Hall, his wife Terra, and their children, Brant Jr. and Chandler, are excited to return to Maryland and rejoin the Loyola Blakefield community.
