Max Balto ’28 Selected for Two Maryland Music Educators All State Ensembles

Join us in celebrating Max Balto ’28, who has reached an extraordinary milestone in his musical journey: he has been selected for two Maryland Music Educators All State Ensembles—a rare achievement that reflects his exceptional talent, dedication, and versatility.

Max will represent Loyola Blakefield as:
🎷 2nd Tenor Saxophone in the Maryland All State Senior Jazz Band
🎷 1st Alto Saxophone in the Maryland All State Senior Commercial Band

The Maryland All State Senior Jazz Band brings together the state’s most accomplished high school jazz musicians to perform challenging repertoire under the direction of nationally recognized jazz educators. The Maryland All State Senior Commercial Band showcases exceptional performers in contemporary and commercial music styles, offering students a chance to collaborate at the highest level and experience professional-level performance standards.

Max’s selection for not one, but two All State ensembles, is a remarkable accomplishment. It highlights his versatility as a musician and his dedication to honing his craft. At Loyola Blakefield, Max is an active member of the Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Orchestra, Symphonic Band, and Vocal Ensemble, demonstrating both breadth and depth in his musical abilities.
