Meet Conlan

FEATURING:

Conlan Heiser-Cerrato '26

As part of our Summer Spotlight series, we are proud to recognize Conlan Heiser-Cerrato '26 as he prepares to begin the next chapter of his academic journey at Harvard University, where he plans to concentrate in History and Literature.

Reflecting on his time at Loyola, Conlan credits the school's culture of curiosity and encouragement for helping him pursue his passions and create opportunities for others.

"I have learned to always follow your interests even if there is not yet a space for them on campus," Conlan said. "Helping grow Loyola's creative writing and classics clubs was the most rewarding experience of my high school journey. When I first arrived, these spaces were underutilized, requiring me to convince others to join or put themselves out there, but ultimately my love and passion allowed me the strength to transform these spaces and to better understand my own commitment to the Humanities."

Conlan also expressed gratitude for the faculty members who challenged and inspired him throughout his four years at Loyola.

"The teachers from Ancient Greek to Philosophy to Physics inspired me to push myself," he said. "Their dedication and love for what they do has made a positive impact on me as a student."

A standout scholar, Conlan earned numerous honors during his time as a Don, including recognition as a Knott Scholar and AOB Scholar. He was also the recipient of the James K. McManus Award, the Excellence in Journalism and Literary Arts Award, and the Sheridan Medal for Excellence in Classics.

By embracing his interests and helping create communities around them, Conlan leaves behind a lasting impact on Loyola Blakefield. We congratulate him on his many accomplishments and look forward to seeing all he achieves at Harvard and beyond.
