I am excited to begin my journey serving you as the 2020-2021 Mothers' Club President. Giving back to this vibrant community that embraces our Dons and families alike is an honor. Along with our sons, we will treasure our time at Loyola Blakefield because of the extraordinary offerings it provides. Our Dons growing spiritually, emotionally, and academically, with the support of their dedicated parents captures the essence of the Loyola experience. We are blessed to have talented faculty and staff at Loyola who adhere to the school's educational philosophy of Cura Personalis: a Latin phrase which translates to "care for the entire person."
It has been my privilege to work with our outgoing President, Janice Moore P'21, '24, '25. I want to thank her for the outstanding job she has done throughout the past school year. She is truly gifted in her ability to bring out the best in every person she encounters. I know I am a better person having her in my life as a mentor and friend. Her dedication, time and commitment has continued to strengthen the overall mission of the Mothers’ Club. We are so fortunate to have her continue to serve as Ex-Officio during this coming school year.
As a Loyola Mom, you are already a member of the Mothers' Club! If you are new to the school, I would like to give you a heartfelt welcome, and to all of those returning, I want to say welcome back. The primary mission of the Mothers' Club is to serve our Dons, our faculty and administration, and our community. Moms, you are a shining example of People for Others. Volunteering with the Mothers' Club is an opportunity for you to try something new, as we often encourage our sons to do. The Mothers' Club offers us a chance to meet new people, share our talents, and have fun all while accomplishing our goals.
I want to mention the importance of our Mothers' Club meetings. Each month we have a meeting to discuss what is happening with our Dons, upcoming events, service opportunities, and activities. It is an excellent way to meet new moms, see friends, hear about campus life, and feel a part of the community. We have planned these meetings for the first Wednesday evening of the month. I think you will find these meetings to be informative and enjoyable. Whatever amount of time you can offer as a volunteer with the Mothers' Club would be welcomed and much appreciated. With peace, faith and gratitude,
Sina Cook, P'21, '24 Mothers' Club President
The Mothers' Club is a social and volunteer organization, providing many ways for Loyola mothers to be involved in the Blakefield community. From fundraising events to providing valuable services to students and parents, there is no shortage of ways to get involved. The Mothers' Club provides hospitality and coordination for many events, and sponsors an annual Fashion Show and Luncheon. The Mothers' Club Executive Board meets monthly on the first Wednesday of each month. All are welcome to attend.
