Loyola Blakefield Swimming & Diving Wins National Catholic Championship

Congratulations to our Swimming & Diving team for winning the 84th National Catholic High School Swimming and Diving Championship Meet this past weekend. The event was held at Loyola University Maryland's Fitness and Aquatics Center between January 14–15. This is the second year in a row that our program took home the championship.

Our Dons scored a total of 350.5 points, followed by Gonzaga College High School (328.5) and Mount St. Joseph High School (188.5). In addition to winning the tournament, Head Coach Gordon Amato was named the National Catholic Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year and Patrick Branon '23 was named the Boys' Co-Most Outstanding Swimmer.

Members of our Swimming & Diving program also celebrated Mass here on campus Saturday night with students from Georgetown Prep and Gonzaga College High School. Thanks to our own School Chaplain Fr. Bruce Steggert, SJ, for presiding. It was such a great opportunity for these young men to share in their faith together.
