Keith Schertle & Cole Buese '15 Receive Decade Swimming Honors by Varsity Sports Network

Congratulations to Keith Schertle and Cole Buese '15 who were recently named the Boys Swimming Coach and No. 1 Swimmer of the Decade by Varsity Sports Network. Throughout the past decade, Schertle coached the swimming program to four of the 18 MIAA Conference titles that were garnered during his 20 years at the helm, including a special three-peat from 2013–2015.

Cole was an important part of those three consecutive championships as he broke several league records and posted All-American times in the 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 200 freestyle relay during his tenure at Loyola. He also qualified for the Olympic Trials in the 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke, and 400 freestyle and went on to have a stellar swimming career at Princeton University. He is currently working as an investment analyst in San Francisco.
