Several Dons Recognized by Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

Several of our Dons were recently recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Established in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious art and writing recognition program for students in grades 7–12.

In the Art Categories, Will Kunkel '23 received a Gold Key for his image “Thinking" and an Honorable Mention for his image “The Unknown." Rocco Bognet '23 received an Honorable Mention for his image “Red Berries," and Erick Castaneda-Galindo '22 received an Honorable Mention for his animation “Oculus."

In the Writing Categories, Liam Brune '23 received a Gold Key for Short Story, Toni Akintola '22 received a Gold Key for Poetry and Honorable Mention for Writing Portfolio, and Caden Heiser-Cerrato '22 received a Gold Key for Writing Portfolio and Silver Key for Poetry. 

The students who received Gold Keys will advance to national judging, and results for national awards will be announced in March.
